Impact Amplifier has just committed funding and business support to five South African businesses, four of which are women led, tackling some of the country’s most pressing environmental challenges, backing them through the Nedbank ReNEW Programme.
The programme launched its newest group accelerator programme intake earlier this year, bringing together entrepreneurs working at the forefront of the circular economy. Alongside committed funding, the accelerator provides participants with a tailored Impact OS online programme, group business support, and mentorship to help them scale their impact.
This cohort reflects the breadth of innovation emerging across South Africa’s green economy, with businesses focused on everything from sustainable building materials to food waste, water reuse and regenerative resource management.
The selected businesses for funding from the group cohort include:
- SAMANJALO (Mpumalanga)
Green building materials - Madam Waste (Gauteng)
Compost and organic waste - Table Mountain Water (Western Cape)
Water reuse and recycling - 360 Social Impact (Gauteng)
Food waste valorisation - Servicios Empresariales (Gauteng)
Agro-waste and circular economy
With this funding and support now committed through the Nedbank ReNEW Programme, each business is positioned to grow its solution, strengthen its operations, increase its environmental impact and reduce youth unemployment. Together, they show how innovation can reduce waste, create jobs and build more resilient local economies.
“Being selected for the Nedbank ReNEW Programme is a significant milestone for SE Holdings. This support is an investment into the circular economy and the power of innovation to turn waste into opportunity. We’re grateful for Nedbank’s confidence in our vision and look forward to scaling our impact by creating sustainable jobs, strengthening local value chains, and building a more resource-efficient future.”
– Servicios Empresariales CEO, Mpumi Maesela
This cohort shows exactly the kind of practical, scalable innovation the circular economy needs, and we’ve committed real funding to help them grow it,” said Max Pichulik, Director at Impact Amplifier.
