Women continue to face a range of barriers when trying to access capital and other relevant support to grow their businesses. The challenge is exacerbated by inadequate female representation in African entrepreneurship. This underrepresentation is particularly acute for female businesses in the green economy. To address this, Future Females, with support from Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs launched FutureFinance.
Impact Amplifier managed the first iteration of FutureFinance, which is an investment readiness programme for women building clean, green and sustainable businesses. The programme aims to tackle the barriers that women climate entrepreneurs face when accessing capital and when seeking to grow their businesses. Impact Amplifier’s online learning management system – Impact OS manged the application, review, selection and support of these women entrepreneurs toward investment readiness.
Seven of the entrepreneurs that completed the online investment readiness content were mentored to finalise all their documentation prior to raising capital.
